“Sunguti Business Solutions is a South African reward advisory and HR consulting firm, founded and led by Yoliswa Mqoboli, a Global Remuneration Professional (WorldatWork) and Master Reward Specialist (SARA).
Our practice is built on the belief that fair, well-structured remuneration is one of the most powerful tools an organisation has. We bring the technical depth of a specialist reward practice and the contextual understanding of a firm that knows South African organisations from the inside.
Our Story
Sunguti was built on a simple belief: people are an organisation’s greatest asset, and most HR support stops short of treating them that way.
After years inside corporate reward and HR functions, our founder saw the gap firsthand. Businesses didn’t just need compliance-driven HR support, they needed advisors who understood both the technical side of reward and the human reality of running a workforce. So she built the consultancy she wished more organisations had access to.
Since 2015, that consultancy has grown into a trusted partner for corporate and public sector organisations across South Africa and Eswatini, delivering remuneration advisory, organisational effectiveness and HR consulting that’s measured by what actually changes inside an organisation, not by how the report looks on a shelf.
Our Story

We saw a gap. Organisations were making expensive pay decisions without the right foundations: job profiles that did not reflect reality, pay structures that could not survive scrutiny, and benchmarking applied without context. We exist to change that.
We help organisations optimise their reward strategies to attract, retain and motivate top talent, and that work is backed by genuine technical depth. Sunguti is led by a Master Reward Specialist (SARA), one of fewer than a hundred professionals in South Africa to hold the designation.

BEHIND THE NAME SUNGUTI.
Our name is more than a logo choice.
The name Sunguti is derived from the Tsonga language. It means “the first month of the year” (January)
As an adjective, it speaks to new opportunities, renewal and fresh beginnings.
We named the business after that idea on purpose. Every client relationship is, in its own way, a fresh start: a new remuneration strategy, a restructured organisation, a
workforce plan built for what’s next. Sunguti is a daily reminder to walk into that work with purpose, clarity and optimism, the same energy a new year carries with it.
At Sunguti Business Solutions, our name embodies our values. It serves as a reminder of the significance of embarking on each journey with purpose, clarity and optimism.
Meet the Founder
Yoliswa Mqoboli is the founder and Managing Director of Sunguti Business Solutions. She holds the designation of Master Reward Specialist, awarded by the South African Reward Association (SARA), the highest professional standard in the reward discipline in South Africa.
Her career spans remuneration strategy, job evaluation, pay benchmarking, organisational design, and reward governance, across both the private and public sector. She founded Sunguti on a specific conviction: that organisations deserve reward advisory that is technically rigorous, locally grounded, and genuinely people-centred, not generic consulting dressed up in local language.
